I'm a pretty big fan of Sonic the Hedgehog. At least, I'm a big fan of the original games on Sega Genesis, which is why I believe I probably bought this around the same time I was living alone after college and had just finally bought Sonic the Hedgehog 3 from Gamers after renting it from the Shopette my entire grade-school life. Actually, it looks like I only own Sonic 1-3, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic Heroes, Sonic Generations, and a spattering of the Archie comics. Wait, do I really like Sonic?

At any rate, I'm not entirely sure why I bought this. When did I think I would be needing to drink 1.5 liters of something? If I bought it for change, why do I have 2 different piggy banks in my closet? I remember we used this once for a Halloween party costume contest where people threw their submissions into the mug, but I'm pretty sure I could have used any bowl-shaped object for that. Did I just have an open spot that I needed a giant mug to fill?

General uselessness aside, the art on this thing really bugs me. Sonic looks like he's hovering because his feet aren't colored in. It's clearly the first level from the first game, Green Hill Zone, so why is Tails there? And why has neither of them collected the rings all around them? I know you only need one to live a hit, but a true pro (i.e. 1st grade me with a lot of free time and a general disdain for the outdoors) knows you need to collect each and every last shiny hoop.

Final Grade: C (as in "COME ON TAILS! GRAB THOSE RINGS YOU IMMORTAL FREAK OF NATURE!!")

My First Post!

Yay! A new blog! I haven't written anything in a long time, so please go easy on me. And if you want to see what I've written in the past, please check out my old blog, Letters to Superheroes (which ended in summer 2014 with a special 'Villains Month' so when you get there don't be like 'Meh this is the wrong blog' because it's the right one and sometimes there were some funny things written in there and you should really them.)

But anyway, this is a blog where I'm going to take random things from around my house and life and review them. It should be great fun and make me take a long look at why I buy so much crap.
